Robert Lewandowski once again became the star of the show as Barcelona annihilated Real Madrid 4-0 at Santiago Bernabeu.

The in-form Lewandowski scored two goals in quick succession in the second half and could have easily bagged two more, as Barcelona completely dominated the Madrid backline.

Barcelona were able to add more gloss to the scoreline, thanks to goals from Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. But it was Lewandowski, who caused all sorts of problems for the opposition defence.

Lewandowski: Undisputed favourite for Pichichi trophy

Lewandowski’s brace against Real Madrid extended the Pole’s scoring tally to a whopping 14 goals in just 11 league matches.

This makes him the undisputed favourite in the race for the prestigious Pichichi trophy, which is given to the highest scorer in La Liga come May.

Just to put things into perspective, Ayoze Perez is second on the list of top goalscorers in La Liga this season.

But his tally of seven goals is just half of Lewandowski’s goals tally this term, which goes to show just how brilliant the Pole has fared in front of goal.

Lewandowski notably won the Pichichi trophy in his first season at Barcelona, netting 23 goals in 34 matches.

However, he has already racked up 14 goals this time around, meaning the veteran striker is well on track to beat his own record.

The former Bayern Munich star, though, still has a long way to go if he wants to match Lionel Messi’s record of 50 goals in 37 league matches.
