Barcelona are continuing to dispute the referee’s decision to disallow Lamine Yamal’s goal in the recent Clásico defeat to arch-rivals Real Madrid. After the match, president Joan Laporta appeared to ensure that the club would take all measures to get justice for this incorrect decision and didn’t rule out asking for a replay of the match.

The RFEF responded to the president’s request by saying that it would not provide the VAR images of the controversial incident. As reported by Relevo, Barca have decided to resort to ordinary justice after the federation’s refusal to give up the requested material.

The federation defends itself on the grounds that the material has already been published. In the images shared by the institution, it is evident that Soto Grado was informed by the VAR room that they were unable to confirm if the ball had completely crossed the line and therefore the referee decided to restart the game with another corner kick.

The Catalan club have followed in the steps of Espanyol by resorting to ordinary justice. In an identical action, ref Melero Lopez awarded a ghost goal to Antoine Griezmann even though there were no images to show that the ball had completely gone in.

After the match, the blue and white outfit went to ordinary justice and were proven right, as the VAR room were found guilty of omitting images that could have helped the referee clarify the situation. Barca have communicated their decision to follow in the steps of Espanyol, as they seek justice for this controversial decision in the biggest match of their season.
