FC Barcelona are looking to bring some reinforcements to their squad in the next summer transfer window, which is quite natural considering they brought in only two new players in the last summer transfer window and none in the winter window.

The forward line is one of the areas the Catalans are looking to strengthen with the highest priority, with several notable players present on their monitoring list.

In this aspect, there is no doubt that their return to the 1:1 status at the start of the year will be quite helpful for them. However, as Mundo Deportivo has noted, Barcelona still need to generate some financial fair play margin to be able to land new players next summer.

The Blaugranes finally returned to the 1:1 status in January when La Liga validated the pending payment of €28 million for 475 VIP seats at the Spotify Camp Nou to Qatari and Emirati investors for the next 30 years.

Now, the Catalans need to bring in some revenue, all of which they will be able to spend on new signings, and for this purpose, they will have to earn by selling some of their assets or saving money on salaries before being able to reinvest this income.

If they end up deciding to sell players, there are several candidates more likely to leave than others. One such player who can end up leaving is the forward Ansu Fati, who has not played a single minute in the last 10 games.

Similarly, the futures of central defenders like Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo are also quite uncertain, and this uncertainty will increase further if Jonathan Tah ends up joining Barcelona.

Inaki Pena can also be a candidate for a departure, while Frenkie de Jong’s departure will free up a lot of salary space for the Catalans, though the Dutchman is not considering a move away at the moment.
