FC Barcelona added three more points to their La Liga tally as they visited the Canary Islands for their game against Las Palmas last Saturday.

The youngster Lamine Yamal was once again key for the Blaugranes in this game, as it was his assist that Dani Olmo converted into the first goal for his side in the second half.

However, this was not really an easy game for the young winger, as he complained on social media after the match about a harsh tackle made by Javi Munoz and Essugo together that left his foot bleeding but was not even called as a foul by the referee.

It was not surprising to see opposition players taking a rough approach to stop the Barcelona star. Diario AS notes that he has now been fouled 64 times throughout this season, averaging two fouls every game.

43 of these fouls suffered by the La Masia graduate have come in La Liga, at an average of 1.95 every game. 14 have come in the UEFA Champions League, another 6 in the Spanish Super Cup, and 1 in Copa del Rey.

Luckily, the fouls he was subject to on Saturday are not expected to keep him out of action for the upcoming first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Atletico Madrid. However, he still had to spend a day in the gym to recover from the trauma and will train with the rest of his teammates only on Monday.

Thus, things are better than they were in the game against Leganes, in which he suffered an injury following a tackle from Neyou which left him out of action for several weeks as he developed syndesmosis in his right ankle.

Hopefully, the referees will be more alert about harsh tackles coming the Barcelona youngster’s way in the coming weeks to ensure he does not have to endure another spell on the sidelines.
