The new contract set to be signed by Barcelona starlet Marc Bernal will feature a brand-new big-money release clause.

That’s according to Jijantes, who have on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

It is now common knowledge across the Spanish football landscape that youngster Bernal is all set to put pen to paper on fresh terms with Barcelona.

Despite being sidelined long-term at present, the 17-year-old maintains the full faith of all behind the scenes at the Camp Nou, as evidenced by the ongoing contract talks between the parties.

Bernal’s extension could be announced as early as this week, tying the midfielder down until 2026, with a further agreement in place for a deal through 2029 to be signed on his 18th birthday.

And, as alluded to above, in tying the club’s engine room gem down for the long-term, Barcelona will also move to stave off the interest of other clubs.

As per the aforementioned Jijantes, Bernal’s new release clause will be set at a hefty €500 million.
