A highly-regarded member of the youth setup at La Liga giants Barcelona knocked back the advances of three of the continent’s leading clubs to pen fresh terms with the Blaugrana this week.

As much has been confirmed by Diario Sport, who point towards Guille Fernández as the player in question.

Midfielder Guille, for his part, was on Thursday confirmed to have committed his future to Barcelona, by way of a new contract.

The 16-year-old, widely considered as one of the standout talents in Catalunya’s capital, is now tied to the Blaugrana through the summer of 2027.

This, however, did not come without considerable temptation for Guille from elsewhere on the continent.

As per Sport, after hiring super agent Jorge Mendes as his representative this summer, the midfield starlet was contacted by all of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Manchester City.

Not only that, but all three clubs offered to pay Guille ‘much more money’ than Barcelona.

And yet, throughout the saga, the player himself remained completely unmoved.

The Spanish talent refused to even sit down for discussions with any of Bayern, Dortmund or Man City, with it concluded that:

‘Guille only wanted to wear the Barça shirt, even though he knew that in financial terms he would lose out, and he never wanted to meet with the aforementioned clubs.’
