A member of the midfield setup at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Monday secured for himself a place in history books.
The player in question? Fermín López.
Youngster Fermín is for his part another special night on the international front.
Afforded a starting berth in Spain’s Olympic semi-final showdown with Morocco, the 21-year-old notched the country’s equaliser, before laying on the assist for the winner, too.
This comes after Fermín was on target to the tune of a brace in the competition’s quarter-finals, against Japan.
Also taking into account the group stages, he has now found the net on four occasions, a remarkable achievement for a natural midfielder.
And, as alluded to above, Fermín’s latest strike has seen him etch his name into the history books, too.
As revealed by Marca:
‘Fermín is the first player for the Spanish national team to score 4 or more goals in one Olympic Games since Kiko scored 5 in the always remembered Barcelona 92.’
