Barcelona have confirmed on the club’s official Twitter account that young midfielder Alex Collado has left the training camp in Germany to resolve his future.

The 22-year-old, a product of La Masia, has been knocking on the first-team doors for a while now, having constantly impressed for Barcelona’s B team. However, to date, he has featured just twice for the senior side.

The versatile 22-year-old, who can play in midfield and attack, had admitted earlier this summer that he did not wish to return to the B team and wanted a spot within the first-team squad. But, it seems like the youngster does not feature in manager Ronald Koeman’s plans.

Indeed, Collado, who featured for bits against Nastic and Girona, was not given any minutes by the Dutch tactician in the pre-season friendly against VfB Stuttgart in Germany on Saturday. And now, it has been revealed that Collado has been permitted to leave the training camp in order to seek a resolution over his future.

Diario Sport reported that a decision had been made to loan out Collado for the 2021/22 season, and it seems like a move is in advanced stages, although it is not clear where the 22-year-old might end up.
