According to a report from SPORT, young Barcelona defender Héctor Fort has voluntarily cut short his holiday and reported early to training, determined to prove his commitment to his manager Hansi Flick ahead of the new season.
The outlet confirms that the 18-year-old full-back was spotted entering the Ciutat Esportiva facilities this morning, where he completed a personal training session lasting over 90 minutes.
Fort’s decision reflects his desire to be fully prepared for the upcoming season, especially after limited game time last year. The La Masia graduate featured for just under 900 minutes in La Liga during the 2024/25 campaign, but he is clearly hungry for more.
With an open pre-season ahead, the youngster is doing everything in his power to show that he can be a reliable option for the German coach.

Interestingly, Fort’s dedication has not gone unnoticed. Within the club, his early return has been viewed positively, and the sporting management, led by Deco, has already informed him that they see him as part of the first-team plans for the new season.
His ability to play on both flanks is a key factor working in his favour, especially as Hansi Flick values tactical flexibility.
Even while on holiday, Fort maintained his physical training routine with the help of a personal trainer.
It is to be noted that Barcelona’s full pre-season begins officially on Sunday, July 13, with the squad set to undergo the usual medical checks. The team will then begin training before eventually heading to Asia.
Amid this, Fort’s early effort has already set the tone and may just give him a head start in the eyes of the new coaching staff.
