An important member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is being put through his paces away from the rest of the club’s squad, ahead of their return to action this weekend.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided the latest on developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

MD point towards Iñigo Martínez as having undergone an ‘individualised session’ on Tuesday.

This marks the 2nd day in succession on which Iñigo has trained away from the rest of his Barcelona teammates.

Those of a Blaugrana persuasion, though, need not fret, with it assured that as much comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen a number of areas to have been subjected to injuries in the past.

The 32-year-old is therefore expected to be available to feature from the off, when Xavi and co. welcome Las Palmas to Catalunya for the club’s post-international break return to action this weekend.

With Ronald Araújo dealing with a minor muscular concern, and youngster Pau Cubarsí in the midst of what have no doubt come as a mentally-draining couple of weeks on the biggest stage, it is in turn not out of the question that Iñigo could even be afforded a start on Saturday night.
