Barcelona star the subject of transfer interest from 2 La Liga clubs | OneFootball

A pair of rival La Liga clubs are expressing an interest in the summer signing of Barcelona star Oriol Romeu.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Midfielder Romeu finds himself in something of a precarious situation at present.

Following a loan spell on the books of Girona in the 2024/25 season, the former Southampton man has since returned to base in Barcelona, with a year remaining on his contract.

The problem for Romeu, though, is that despite playing a prominent role in pre-season training, he does not feature in the plans of the Blaugrana in any way, shape or form.

A contract termination could therefore even be on the cards for the 33-year-old over the weeks ahead.

And with as much in mind, a pair of La Liga clubs have set their sights on a potential deal for Romeu.

As per a report from Sport, both former club Girona and Valencia would be keen to bring the deep-lying midfielder in as a free agent.
