A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has today added his name to the lengthy list of those to have condemned the Argentine national team squad.

As much, for those who may have missed it, comes amid a concerning scandal surrounding Lionel Scaloni’s squad.

Fresh off sealing glory at the Copa América in the early hours of Monday, Argentina’s star-studded squad kicked celebrations into gear, both in and outside the stadium in Miami, Florida.

Upon the party making its way onto the team coach, however, things quickly got out of hand.

Recorded by Albiceleste and Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, a host of the country’s most high-profile players were heard passionately singing a discriminatory chant against the France national team.

The chant in question was heard back at the 2022 World Cup, and relates to Les Bleus’ stars being of largely African descent.

Captain Lionel Messi and others were absent from the scene, but the likes of Enz and Emi Martínez were front and centre.

The clip in question has given rise to widespread outrage across the football world, with fans, players and the media alike having been quick to reveal their collective disgust.

And, as alluded to above, early on Wednesday, adding his name to this list was a key Barcelona star.

The player in question? Jules Koundé.

Taking to his official X account to respond to a post on the part of compatriot Wesley Fofana, Koundé made his feelings crystal clear, in writing:

‘Lamentable’
