A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week spoken out regarding his plans with the club moving forward.
Wide-man Raphinha is for his part of course in the midst of a stellar opening to the new campaign.
Across Barcelona’s ten outings in all competitions to date, the Brazilian international has racked up nine direct goal contributions, by way of six goals, and three assists.
And yet, Raphinha’s influence runs far beyond simply his output in the attacking third.
The 27-year-old, in addition, has taken on a leadership role on and off the pitch alike. His incessant work rate has been widely hailed by fans and the media alike, with Raphinha now considered a reference for his teammates in match situations.
After calls previously mounted for the former Leeds United standout to be moved on, the vast majority are now desperate for Raphinha to stay put.
And, if the latest comments on the part of the player himself are anything to go by, then such supporters need not fret.
Drawn on his future after playing a starring role in Barcelona’s 5-0 drubbing of Young Boys on Tuesday night, the Brazilian assured:
“I have a contract with Barcelona and my intention is to fulfill it. I’m happy and I know what I can offer.”
