Barcelona star set to leave after season opener | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks has been pencilled in for a departure from the club at some point next week.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Héctor Fort as the player in question.

Youngster Fort for his part all of a sudden finds himself without a place in the plans of Hansi Flick for the season ahead.

Owing to the respective emergences of Eric García and Gerard Martín as viable full-back options in Barcelona’s XI, the 19-year-old is out of favour on both flanks.

The plan of Deco and co, in turn, is to farm Fort out on loan for the 2025/26 campaign, to secure for the defender an uptick in playing time.

And as alluded to above, on Thursday, a fresh insight into the plans of Barcelona to sanction such an exit has been provided.

As per a report from Sport, Fort will still be a Blaugrana player for the club’s La Liga opener against RCD Mallorca this weekend.

After as much, however:

‘Next week Fort will finish opting for one of the offers he has on the table and close his departure. This is the limit that both the club and the player’s entourage set themselves to carry out the operation.’
