Barcelona star Andreas Christensen is ready to rebuff the widespread interest in his signature, in favour of staying put to fight for a spot in Hansi Flick’s backline.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of defender Christensen has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
This comes amid mounting reports that the Barcelona brass are considering cashing in on the Danish international, potentially as soon as January.
In need of fresh funds to balance the books, and with Hansi Flick’s squad well-stocked at the heart of defence, Christensen has seemingly been identified as the odd man out.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word to have surfaced on Thursday is anything to go by, then the former Chelsea man will be going nowhere soon, if he has his way at least.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Despite the many teams interested in Andreas, especially in the Premier League and Serie A, the Danish centre-back, with a contract until 2026, is only thinking about recovering as soon as possible and earning his place again with the Barça jersey.’
