Barcelona star Pau Cubarsí has on Friday pointed towards Manchester City midfielder and Spanish teammate Rodri as the best player in world football.
The subject of the game’s standout performers has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines across the continent over recent weeks.
This comes ahead of the fast-approaching Ballon d’Or ceremony.
As things stand, it is Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. who is considered the favourite for the prize, ahead of Blancos teammate Jude Bellingham.
As alluded to above, though, one individual of the opinion that another player currently stands above all others as the best in the game is Barcelona’s Pau Cubarsí.
Speaking in an interview with Diario Sport on Friday, Blaugrana stopper Cubarsí was asked ‘who is the best player in the world right now?’
And the 17-year-old did not hesitate in pointing towards fellow countryman Rodri, sidelined long-term at present owing to a serious knee injury.
