A leading member of the attacking ranks at Barcelona was named Man of the Match for his performance in the club’s meeting with Las Palmas.
This comes despite the Blaugrana having been condemned to a shock defeat on Saturday afternoon.
Hansi Flick’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming lowly Las Palmas to Catalunya’s capital with sights on a first league victory in three.
When all was said and done, however, Barca’s woes only continued, en route to an eventual 2-1 defeat.
A whole host of members of Flick’s squad struggled en route to as much, with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Jules Koundé having been singled out for particularly harsh criticism.
As alluded to above, though, another of the hosts’ stars was for his part named official Man of the Match at Montjuïc.
The player in question? Raphinha.
Wide-man Raphinha was responsible for Barcelona’s only goal on Saturday, after lashing a fine long-range effort into the bottom corner of the Las Palmas net.
And as much proved enough for the Brazilian international to beat out competition from a number of equally deserving Las Palmas stars, on his way to MVP honours.
