Barcelona star misses training ahead of Almería | OneFootball

A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona played no part in group training on Tuesday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ronald Araújo as the player in question.

Stopper Araújo, for his part, was an unused substitute on Monday night, as Barcelona battled their way to a bounce-back victory at the expense of Real Sociedad.

Speaking to the media post-match, Xavi went on to reveal that as much came owing to a ‘small, unimportant annoyance’ on the fitness front, with the Uruguayan having been rested as a result.

On Tuesday, though, the same problem has kept Araújo out of training, too.

As much may come as a source of concern for the Barcelona faithful, with their side set to take to the pitch twice more in the coming days amid efforts to clinch a 2nd-placed finish in La Liga.

The aforementioned MD, however, assure that there is no reason to fret.

This comes with ‘the idea’ being that Araújo returns to the starting XI for Thursday’s fast-approaching meeting with basement dwellers Almería.
