A departing member of the attacking ranks at La Liga heavyweights Barcelona has left the club with a bitter taste in his mouth.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Ansu Fati as the player in question.

Wide-man Ansu’s long-awaited Barcelona departure was of course finally made official on Tuesday afternoon.

Following months of speculation pointing towards an incoming Camp Nou exit for the 22-year-old, he ultimately penned terms with Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco.

Ansu has made the move to the Stade Louis II on loan for the 2025/26 campaign.

Safe to say, however, that if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then he does not depart on particularly good terms with those in a position of power at Barcelona…

As per a report from Sport, Ansu and his entourage were left ‘angry’ with the player’s treatment on the part of both manager Hansi Flick and the board in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes for the following reasons, amongst others:

  • Unfulfilled promises regarding game-time.
  • The last-minute nature of Barca’s push for a January transfer.
  • Flick’s public comments regarding Ansu’s fitness and training efforts.

The Spaniard therefore leaves with a chip on his shoulder, desperate to prove those back in Barcelona wrong over the season ahead.
