Barcelona star could miss Osasuna clash through injury | OneFootball

A key member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has seen his status for the club’s upcoming meeting with Osasuna thrown into doubt.

That’s according to Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who points towards Pau Cubarsí as the player in question.

Stopper Cubarsí of course set alarm bells sounding across the Barcelona fanbase on Thursday night.

This came after the 18-year-old was forced into a premature departure from Spain’s Nations League meeting with The Netherlands.

En route to a 2-2 draw between the countries, Cubarsí was hauled off late in the first-half, owing to an ankle problem.

Though initial reports suggested that the issue was not a serious one, the youngster has since departed the Spanish national team camp, returning to Barcelona for treatment.

And the injury, it has since been revealed, could prove enough to keep Cubarsí out of contention for the Blaugrana’s next outing.

As per a report from the aforementioned Javier Miguel:

‘Tests will be carried out tomorrow in Barcelona. No risks will be taken even if a minor sprain is confirmed. He’s doubtful against Osasuna; the expectation is he could be 100% fit against Girona or Atlético Madrid.’
