Barcelona star admits ‘I have to improve’ next season | OneFootball

A headline member of the first-team squad at La Liga giants Barcelona has admitted that his performances will need to take a step up beginning next season.

The player in question? Marc-André ter Stegen.

Ter Stegen, and Barcelona, are of course fresh off bringing the club’s campaign to a close a short time ago.

After making the trip to Sevilla for the final fixture of boss Xavi’s reign, the Blaugrana ultimately emerged on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

En route to as much, though, the aforementioned Ter Stegen was nevertheless on the receiving end of some heavy criticism on the part of his side’s supporters.

This came after the German was beaten by Youssef En-Nesyri from an unfavourable angle for Sevilla’s equaliser on the half-hour mark.

This is not the first occasion on which Ter Stegen has seen his efforts called into question this season, with the shot-stopper himself, post-match on Sunday, having therefore been eager to confirm his readiness to step up his form:

“We have good players, but we must work more to compete,” he began. “And on a personal level, I have to improve.”
