A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Thursday provided an insight into some of the key differences between life under new head coach Hansi Flick, and those who came before him.

Barca, of course, are in the midst of a scintillating start to life under the watch of their new headmaster.

Across a quartet of La Liga fixtures to date, the Blaugrana have racked up a perfect four wins, notching 13 goals along the way whilst conceding just three.

Hansi Flick has brought about a new air of confidence and organisation to the Catalans, who look like they are fully aware of the game-plan for the 90 minutes ahead when taking to the pitch.

Speaking to the media this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the impact made by the club’s new headmaster was put to Barcelona standout Pedri.

During an interview with Mundo Deportivo, midfielder Pedri was drawn on some of the key differences between working under Flick, and some of his predecessors at the Camp Nou.

And the 21-year-old did not hesitate in pointing towards the intensity of training sessions and preparatory work, explaining:

“We work much harder at the club than before. I think the physical trainers who have come in are doing us a lot of good. We work very hard and that shows in the game. The team doesn’t drop after the 70th or 80th minute, but rather maintains its physical level.”
