Following Barcelona’s final La Liga home match of the season against Villarreal and the title celebrations at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, sporting director Deco took to social media to address the fans.
Full of pride and excitement, he shared a message on social media that reflected both joy and determination for what lies ahead.
“Thank you for making this moment even more special.” He added, “I’m proud of this team.” “The work and determination remain strong. We keep going.”
His message came amidst reports that he is set to begin key talks with head coach Hansi Flick to begin shaping the squad for the upcoming season.
These talks are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the squad, with key decisions to be made about reinforcements and possible departures.
Earlier in the week, Deco was praised by club president Joan Laporta for his role in ensuring that renewals for key players like Pedri, Fermin Lopez, and Gavi were successfully registered.
Laporta also expressed confidence that Barcelona are now within the 1:1 financial rule, meaning the club can proceed with signings this summer.
The upcoming meetings between Deco and Flick will focus on improving three main areas, with a reliable forward high on the priority list.
Deco recently said in an interview that the club is looking for someone who can help ease the load on Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Robert Lewandowski.
With his words after the Villarreal game, Deco made it clear that while this season was one to remember, the focus has already shifted to building an even stronger Barcelona for the future.
