On Saturday, Barcelona will play their last match of 2024 against Atletico Madrid at the Estadi Olimpic. They had hoped to be back at the Spotify Camp Nou by this stage, but unforeseen delays have meant that it has not yet been possible. The expectation is that they will return in 2025,  although the exact date is not yet known.

As such, plenty of uncertainly has arisen, and the club has seemingly been considering a lot of different options. It was reported earlier this week that Barcelona have been considering to play either Champions League knockout matches away from the Spotify Camp Nou (which may not be ready) and the Estadi Olimpic.

However, Sport have denied these claims, saying that Barcelona will only be playing at the Estadi Olimpic or Spotify Camp Nou this season. The club are not considering any other possibilities at this stage.

Barcelona’s hope is to return to the Spotify Camp Nou in March, although this could be ambitious. There is no doubt that the situation is making club officials restless, as they eagerly await their return home.
