Barcelona have confirmed that Brazilian youngster Emerson will join the club this summer.

Ernesto Valverde’s side released a statement on their website revealing that they had reached an agreement with Atlético Mineiro for the 20-year-old.

The Camp Nou side will pay €12m for the right-back who will join up with his new team mates in July.

Before that though, the full-back will get a taste of Spanish football by spending the second half of this season on loan at Real Betis.

Emerson has been compared to Barça great Dani Alves, and recently earned a call-up to the Brazil Under-20 squad.
