Barcelona’s official merchandise sales have revealed some interesting insights about the club’s most popular shirts this season.
According to recent reports from AS, the highest-selling jerseys feature the names of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and surprisingly, Lionel Messi—despite the Argentine legend having left the club nearly four years ago.
The marketing team at Barcelona is well aware of this ongoing demand. While the club cannot officially produce and sell shirts bearing Messi’s name due to licensing restrictions, fans have found a way around it.
Many supporters, especially tourists visiting the club’s official stores, opt to buy a plain Barcelona jersey and have Messi’s name and iconic number 10 printed on the back.
Remarkably, the demand for Messi’s shirt is still so high that it surpasses that of most current first-team players. Only two stars have managed to outperform him in terms of sales— Yamal and Lewandowski.
Yamal, in particular, has emerged as Barcelona’s most in-demand player when it comes to shirt sales.

The young sensation’s rise in popularity has led to frequent stock shortages, with demand exceeding expectations. Lewandowski, meanwhile, remains a major commercial force for the club.
Further down the list, a tight battle exists for third place between Raphinha and Pedri. The Brazilian tends to outsell Pedri under normal circumstances, but after a strong performance on the pitch, Pedri’s sales tend to rise significantly.
In fifth place, Gavi’s jersey is a favourite among younger fans, particularly teenagers. Meanwhile, Pau Cubarsi’s popularity is growing rapidly, pushing him up to sixth place in shirt sales.
On the other hand, Frenkie de Jong has experienced a surprising decline in popularity. This season, he has dropped to seventh place, marking a significant shift in fan preferences.
Despite Messi’s departure from the club years ago, his connection with Barcelona remains unbreakable. His continued presence at the top of shirt sales proves that his legacy at the club is far from fading.
