As FC Barcelona prepares for their preseason tour of Asia, with matches scheduled in Japan and South Korea, the club is finalizing a lucrative transfer. Pau Victor, the 23-year-old striker signed from Girona last season, is close to joining Sporting de Braga in a permanent move, generating a significant profit for Barcelona.
With limited playing time under Hansi Flick, Victor’s departure makes sense from both a financial and sporting perspective.
Although he featured in 29 matches for Barcelona’s first team last season, he played only 379 minutes, scoring 2 goals and registering 1 assist. The move to the Portuguese club offers him a better chance at regular football while also freeing up salary space.

According to The Athletic and Portuguese outlet A Bola (via Mundo Deportivo), Sporting de Braga is set to sign Victor in a deal worth €12 million fixed, plus €3 million in performance-based add-ons, totaling €15 million.
The transfer is in advanced stages, with the 23-year-old expected to sign a five-year contract with the Primeira Liga club.
Victor initially joined Barcelona on loan from Girona in 2023 for their B team before being signed permanently for €2.7 million in the summer of 2024.
Barcelona stand to make a profit of approximately €9.3 million from the fixed fee alone, though Girona will receive 30% of the transfer fee due to a sell-on clause as per Nil Solà, equating to roughly €3.6 million from the fixed amount.
Barcelona’s preference for a permanent transfer, including a buy-back clause as reported by Fabrizio Romano, deterred clubs like Valencia, who were interested but only wanted a loan deal. However, with Barcelona prioritizing a full transfer to maximize profit, Valencia stepped back.
The arrival of Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United was also set to further limit Victor’s playing time, potentially prompting him to seek an exit. The transfer not only strengthens Barcelona’s finances but also frees up salary space, easing the club’s Financial Fair Play margin.
