As per a report sourced from AS, Barcelona are displaying considerable enthusiasm in securing the services of Pedro Lima, a right-back hailing from Brazil.

The excitement surrounding Lima is steadily mounting across Europe. Just last Monday, it was disclosed that several European powerhouses – including Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, and Juventus – have reserved him for their radar, tracking his every move.

Now, it is suggested that Lima, with his talent, is poised for a leap to Europe, already looming on the horizon. At the tender age of 17, he has solidified his status as one of Brazil’s most promising revelations.

No offer from any team, yet

Joao Marcelo Barros, head of Sport Recife’s management committee, recently revealed that although no team has come up with a concrete offer, the influx of inquiries regarding his status has already commenced, resembling a downpour of phone calls.

“We have already been contacted by several European giants. We know of many who are following him, but there are no concrete offers, nothing has been formalized yet.

“Now, we have no doubt that Pedro Lima is going to be one of the big names in Brazilian football in the coming years,” said Barros.

Now, it is widely acknowledged that Barcelona has faced recurring issues at right-back over recent seasons.

The uncertainty surrounding Joao Cancelo’s future only intensifies their focus on finding a solution, with Lima emerging as a potential candidate.

Nevertheless, there is a gradual clarity in the options available within the team, particularly with the rise of promising talents like Hector Fort, who hails from the youth academy.

Additionally, Julian Araujo has showcased his abilities during a loan stint at Las Palmas, positioning himself as a dependable alternative to bolster the right flank. Barcelona seeks players naturally suited to this role, and Araujo seems to fit the bill.
