Barcelona set to welcome back Nuhu Fofana Diarassouba

Now, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are set to welcome a former academy talent, Nuhu Fofana Diarassouba, back to the club in the summer transfer window.

Fofana, 17, came through the ranks of La Masia but left the club to join UE Cornella, where he has continued his development.

The Malian attacker made a name for himself in Barcelona’s youth ranks, excelling and scoring goals at the Pre-Benjamín and Benjamín levels before leaving for Cornella.

This season, Fofana has netted seven goals for Cornella’s Juvenil A team and even made his first-team debut for the club, featuring in a Copa Catalunya match against Cerdanyola del Valles, followed by another appearance in the RFEF Segunda Division.

A quick, physically strong striker with a sharp finishing ability, Fofana has remained on Barcelona’s radar.

The Catalan giants have closely monitored his development, knowing there was always a chance he could return – just as other players have done after a stint at Cornella.

Now, with his progression meeting expectations, Barcelona have deemed that the time is right for his return to the academy setup, with the teenager set to be a part of the Juvenil A next season.
