Barcelona expect summer signing Dani Olmo to return from injury after the October international break.

The Euro 2024 winner joined Barca in the summer for a reported €60m, penning a six-year deal at the club where he came through the youth ranks. Olmo started his Barca career in fine form in the early weeks of the 2024/25 campaign, bagging three goals in his first three La Liga appearances, including a stunning half-volley in a statement 4-1 win over Girona.

Unfortunately during that victory, Olmo hobbled off with what was later confirmed to be a hamstring injury and hasn't featured in any of Barca's subsequent five fixtures in all competitions.

While Olmo is once again set to be on the sidelines for La Blaugrana's trip to Mendizorrotza Stadium to face Deportivo Alaves this weekend, according to Marca, the midfielder's recovery has progressed well and he is expected to be fit to feature against Sevilla after the international break.

The Spain international will have the next few weeks to recover and train with Barca, having not been called up by Luis de la Fuente for the UEFA Nations League games against Denmark and Serbia in mid-October.

The news of Olmo's impending return will certainly be music to the ears of Hansi Flick, who has had to deal with a whole host of injury concerns in recent weeks.

As well as being without his big money summer signing, the new Barca manager has also had to do without Andreas Christensen, Ronald Araujo, Fermin Lopez, Gavi, Marc Bernal and even club captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who is out for the rest of the 2024/25 campaign after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during a recent La Liga game.
