Real Betis reach agreement with Crystal Palace to sell Chadi Riad

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, the transfer agreement for Chadi Riad is almost complete between Real Betis and Crystal Palace.

The deal is estimated to be for €15 million plus an additional €2 million in variables, with Barcelona entitled to receive 50% of the fees from the transfer. This results in a net of €9 million plus another €1 million in variables for Barça.

Moreover, as previously agreed, Betis will give FC Barcelona €3 million this summer to obtain 50% of Chadi Riad’s transfer.

As such, in total, Barcelona will earn €9 million net, plus €1 million in variables, for the transfer of 100% of Chadi Riad’s rights, with Betis earning €6 million.

While Betis are earning a lower sum compared to Barcelona, in order to dodge the Blaugranes’ €7 million buy-back option in 2025, which would only provide Betis with a €4 million profit, the decision to offload Riad this summer makes sense.

Last year, Riad departed Barcelona in search of greater playing time. Now, his promising season with Betis has earned him a place with the Morocco national team and an increase in his market value.

Given that Riad would receive a big boost in his salary for playing in the Premier League, the player and his representatives are eager to finalize the deal as soon as possible.

Therefore, Barcelona can expect to receive their financial injection soon, which would be more than welcome ahead of the summer transfer window.
