It is no secret that Barcelona have been focusing on expanding their presence in the African market.

This strategy has seen significant progress, especially this season, with the addition of two promising players, David Oduro and Aziz Issah, both from Ghana, who have joined Barça Atletic.

However, these two players are not expected to be the last talents to join the club from this region.

Two new signings

Reports from the African Foot Academy in Mali suggest that Barcelona has already secured the signings of two more players, Ibrahim Diarra and Arouna Traore.

Both players hail from the same academy, known for producing top football talent. Diarra, a Malian winger, is expected to officially join the club in January, coinciding with the opening of the winter transfer window.

At that time, he will have reached the age of majority, allowing him to wear the Barcelona shirt. The club has been taking proactive steps to streamline the bureaucratic process surrounding his transfer, aiming to ensure a smooth and quick integration into the team.

In Barcelona’s latest financial report, it was revealed that the club has outstanding debts related to these signings, amounting to €190,000 owed to CPF Africa Foot, and €1.5 million for Diarra. This brings the total financial commitment for these two players to €1.7 million.

Trial for Traore

The second signing, Traore, is a 17-year-old striker who is set to join the club on trial. Although fewer details have emerged about Traore, his potential has not gone unnoticed.

He played as a forward but can also operate as a winger. Last season, he made an impact in Mali’s Ligue 2, scoring 8 goals and providing 3 assists.

His performances caught the attention of several French clubs, including Lille. Despite interest from other top teams, Traore has confirmed through his social media that he will be joining Barcelona.
