Barcelona remain the only unbeaten team in 2025 across top five European leagues | OneFootball

After finishing 2024 in far from ideal fashion, FC Barcelona have once again been in blazing form since the start of the new year, and remain one of the most competitive teams in Spain and Europe.

Last night, they got another crucial win, as they got the better of SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie. Getting this win was not really easy for the Catalans, as they had to play a major part of the game with only 10 players, as Pau Cubarsi was shown a red card in the 22nd minute.

However, Raphinha scored in the second half to get his side a 0-1 victory, and with this win, the Blaugranes continued their unbeaten streak since the start of the year to 16 games.

In fact, Mundo Deportivo notes that Barcelona are now the only team in the top five European leagues that are yet to taste a defeat in 2025. Before the last night’s matches in the UCL, Paris Saint-Germain was another team that had remained undefeated this year, but ended up losing to Liverpool and ended this unbeaten run.

Of the 16 matches, the Catalans have played in 2025, they have won 13 and drawn the other three. Seven of these matches have come in La Liga, four in Copa del Rey, three in UCL, and two in the Spanish Super Cup.

The three draws came against Getafe in La Liga, against Atalanta in the UCL, and against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey.

Meanwhile, other top teams in the top five European leagues have already tasted defeat this season. Bayern Munich lost to Feyenoord on January 22, while other teams like Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid have lost twice since the start of 2025.

Hopefully, Barcelona will be able to continue on this unbeaten run in the coming months as well.
