A fresh insight into the status of Dani Alves in the history books of La Liga giants Barcelona has today been forthcoming online.
This comes after the Brazilian was dealt a blow by his former employers earlier this week.
After word was forthcoming that Alves had been found guilty of sexual assault, and subsequently sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison, the powers that be in Catalunya took swift action.
Across Barcelona’s website and official online channels, the one-time full-back – who lined out for the Blaugrana across a pair of separate spells spanning a total of nine years – saw his status as a club ‘legend’ revoked.
Alves, for his part, was one of just 102 players in the storied history of Barca to have seen his efforts rewarded by way of a ‘legendary’ standing.
Upon further consideration, however, the powers that be at the Camp Nou have since reversed their decision.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who note that:
‘The measure was later reconsidered and the player regained his visible place (as a legend) in the entity’s media channels.’
