The 33-year-old is the fourth-choice midfielder in the United setup this season but seems to be happy with the role. Spanish giants Barcelona are now looking to add him to their squad.
That’s according to The Sun, who claim that the Catalan club sees Matic as a good addition after missing out on a move for Georginio Wijnaldum, who joined Paris Saint-Germain over the summer.
Barcelona are still feeling the effects of a long-term spending issue but feel they can afford to land Matic, who would be entering the final year of his contract next year.
Matic is said to be raking home £140,000 per week at Manchester United and an exit would demand less than £10m from Ronald Koeman’s side.
