Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is not done with the transfer market just yet.
In fact, according to a report from Fichajes, it has come to light that after completing the deal for Marcus Rashford, Flick has now asked the club to prioritise the signing of Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.
The outlet mentions that Flick sees the right flank as one of the most vulnerable areas in his squad. Currently, Jules Kounde is covering the position, but he is not a natural right-back.
For Flick, bringing in Dumfries would fix this problem, providing both solidity in defence and depth in attack. The Dutch international is known for his stamina, strength, and versatility, qualities that fit perfectly into Flick’s tactical plans.
He has consistently performed at a high level in Serie A and in European competitions, making him one of the most respected full-backs on the continent.
As things stand, Dumfries has a €25 million release clause valid until the end of July, but time is running out.

Once that deadline passes, Inter Milan will be free to set their own price, and reports suggest they have already put a €40 million valuation on the player.
This complicates matters for Barcelona, especially given the club’s well-known financial struggles.
Despite the challenges, Barcelona know that signing a proper right-back is essential for the team’s balance. Flick sees Dumfries as the missing piece that could help Barça compete at the highest level next season, both in La Liga and in Europe.
The next steps depend on whether Barcelona can either generate new revenue or negotiate a creative payment solution to meet Inter’s demands.
One thing is certain that Flick wants Dumfries to be the club’s next priority.
