Barcelona midfielder Gavi is set to return to action following a brief injury setback. As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Gavi resumed normal training and is expected to travel with the team to face Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
Although Hansi Flick will only officially announce the squad on Sunday morning, signs point to the young midfielder’s availability.
The 20-year-old was seen training with the squad on Saturday, indicating he has fully recovered. Barcelona will still be without key players such as Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Marc Bernal, and Andreas Christensen due to injuries.
Their absence remains a challenge for Flick’s squad as they continue to navigate a demanding schedule.
Gavi’s recent head injury during Barcelona’s narrow 1-0 victory against Alaves last Sunday initially raised concerns. Early in the game, the midfielder collided with an opponent, which resulted in a blow to the head.

Although he did not lose consciousness, the club’s medical team promptly activated the protocol for head injuries as a precautionary measure.
Following the incident, Gavi was substituted and underwent a series of examinations at a hospital before being cleared to return home that same night. Medical staff advised caution, which kept him away from regular team training sessions.
Although he trained individually on the pitch, he missed Barcelona’s midweek Copa del Rey quarter-final match against Valencia, where the Catalan giants secured a dominant 5-0 win.
Now fully cleared after completing the necessary medical assessments, Gavi looks set to rejoin the starting eleven. His return will provide much-needed depth and energy to the Barcelona midfield as they face a formidable opponent in Sevilla.
Flick will undoubtedly be pleased to have one of his key young talents available once again, as Barcelona continues its pursuit of success on multiple fronts.
