Barcelona began the process of Ousmane Dembele’s renewal over a month ago. After Xavi’s arrival, the Frenchman was seen as a player who would become a vital part of the team, and his renewal was the priority.

However, negotiations have stagnated between the two parties over a disagreement over wages.

Barcelona propose a scheme that will see the winger earn based on the number of appearances he makes, amongst other variables. If met, it would make him one of the highest earners in the squad.

Yet, the player’s environment refuse to match the school of thought. Dembele has offers from multiple clubs that promise an astronomical fixed salary. Though the player maintains that he wishes to renew, his agent has pushed away the club’s advances.

According to SPORT, Barcelona are now preparing one final offer for Dembele. The final proposal will be with a strict condition that could make or break the negotiation.

The club have set a deadline over the negotiations. If the player’s environment fail to respond to the proposal by 31st December, Barcelona will assume that he is leaving the club. No further advances will be made.

The player is aware of his big role in the team under the new manager. However, his agent has been in contact with Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus, among others. The offers on the table are tempting Dembele, with his agent pushing for a departure not helping his case.

Against Real Betis, Dembele once again changed the game after coming on as a substitute. He is expected to start against Bayern Munich midweek. It is not surprising to see why the club are desperate to work out a renewal with the former Dortmund winger.
