Barcelona’s ambition to secure Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich remains strong despite their recent financial challenges, according to a report by Jorge Picon.
It is no secret that the club is determined to strengthen their full-back position, and Davies is seen as an ideal addition to their squad. However, the road to signing him appears to be riddled with obstacles.
The journalist mentions that Barcelona have been in contact with the player’s representatives and have expressed their intent to make a competitive offer.
Yet, their financial limitations make it difficult to compete with other clubs in the race. In fact, their ongoing struggles with Dani Olmo highlight the challenges the club faces in securing top-tier talent under their current economic constraints.
Meanwhile, other European heavyweights have entered the race for the Canadian defender. Premier League clubs, in particular, have shown keen interest, with several offers already tabled.

While Manchester United seems to have reduced their focus on Davies, teams like Liverpool and Real Madrid continue to monitor the situation closely. For Liverpool, though, a left-back is not a pressing need at the moment.
Davies’ current contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire in six months, allowing him to negotiate with other clubs for a pre-contract agreement.
Bayern, however, have made significant progress in their renewal talks and remain the favourites to retain the player. Real Madrid are also pushing hard to secure his services, adding another layer of competition for Barcelona.
For Barcelona, the pursuit of Davies aligns with their strategy to bolster the squad’s depth in the full-back areas.
While Alejandro Balde has cemented his position as the first-choice left-back, the club lacks an experienced player.
Davies’ arrival would provide the team with both quality and experience, but their chances of landing the player appear slim due to competition from financially stronger clubs.
