Barca and PSG, of course, locked horns a short time ago.

In the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs, the latter welcomed Xavi’s troops to the Parc des Princes for a highly-anticipated clash.

And, when all was said and done in a pulsating affair, it was Barcelona who emerged on the right side of a 3-2 result.

Post-match, figures from the playing squad and coaching staff alike at both the Blaugrana and PSG, in turn, have provided a whole host of noteworthy quotes to the media.

As alluded to above, though, one outlet who were point-blank refused any form of interview on the back of the action coming to a close in France’s capital were Movistar.

Why? Comments made by one of the outlet’s panelists regarding Lamine Yamal.

After footage of youngster Lamine flashed across the tv screens in the Movistar+ broadcast room ahead of kick-off, the attacker was widely hailed.

As much was followed by Mono Burgos, however, adding:

“Be careful because if he doesn’t do well, he will end up in front of traffic lights.”

Such comments, understandably, did not go down at all well in the camps of either Barcelona or PSG, who in turn informed Movistar that they would not be affording them any post-match interviews.

Speaking as part of his role on the station, Ricardo Sierra provided an insight into the situation, as cited by Cadena SER:

“I understand that many spectators were waiting after the match ended for us to have an interview with an FC Barcelona player. Well, FC Barcelona, as well as UEFA and PSG, have informed us that today, Movistar+, will not No player from either Barça or PSG was going to attend because they were tremendously offended and angry by a comment that was made on our set during the preview of the match. Today they are not going to give us an interview. From here, we have conveyed our apologies. I understand that we must also do it from the set.”
