Barcelona presidential candidate confirms Eric Garcia plans

Barcelona will NOT be signing Eric Garcia from Manchester City this month.

The news was reported by El Partidazo de COPE on Wednesday, and has subsequently now been confirmed by Barcelona presidential candidate Toni Freixa.

A former La Masia starlet, Garcia was originally linked with a return to Barça last summer and the possibility of him moving to Camp Nou during the January transfer window had been floated.

But with his City contract set to expire in the summer, it seems he will now join on a free transfer at the end of the season instead.

The 20-year-old Spain international was named on the bench when Pep Guardiola’s side took on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
