Journalist Fernando Polo has reported via Mundo Deportivo that some players within the Barcelona squad feel mistreated by their manager, Xavi.

It is no secret that Xavi is currently facing a crucial period as the club decides on his future. Reports have surfaced suggesting that certain squad members are unhappy with Xavi’s management and would not mind seeing him leave.

Interestingly enough, they have communicated this sentiment to club president Joan Laporta before his meeting with Xavi.

In recent days, Xavi’s future has been intensely scrutinised, especially after his comments about Barcelona’s financial difficulties hindering their ability to compete for the title even next season.

Yesterday, it was revealed that Laporta has decided not to retain Xavi, despite earlier indications that the former midfielder would continue managing the team for another season.

Why are players complaining?

This abrupt change in the club’s decision has caused significant unrest within the team, affecting the first-team players.

Reporter Fernando Polo suggests that several Barcelona players are unhappy with how Xavi has been managing the squad.

One possible example of discontent could be Vitor Roque, who has been sidelined since joining the club.

The Brazil international has played only 327 minutes across 14 matches in all competitions, averaging just over 23 minutes per game. This limited playtime might be a reason for his dissatisfaction with Xavi’s management.

Has Barcelona made a decision?

As of today, Barcelona have not made anything official regarding Xavi, but it is more than understood that the management is not happy with what he did.

Back when Barcelona had announced his continuity, it was established that the club would help Xavi in every way possible and this is why the management is not happy with what the manager said recently.

In summary, Xavi is under considerable pressure as Barcelona’s management re-evaluates his position. Some players are unhappy with his approach, which has added to the uncertainty about his future at the club.
