This feeling has strengthened even further today as Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona have already paid the release clause of the Spanish goalkeeper. Now, the official confirmation of his signing will not take long.

The Catalans have already ordered the payment of Garcia’s release clause, but for now, it remains to be seen whether La Liga will receive it and definitely validate the operation.

The goalkeeper had previously agreed to sign a 5-year agreement with the Blaugrana club, but now, he will sign for six years, till 2031. This extension provided Barcelona with some financial relief, while the economic terms of the contract were also improved.

The goalkeeper will join the team on July 13th

Once his release clause has been accepted by La Liga, the goalie will have to take another complicated next step, i.e., saying goodbye to Espanyol fans, who have already shown their disappointment at seeing their player join such hated rivals.

Thus, only carefully measured messages will be released to the media at the event of his signing, as he does not want to further aggravate his fans.

After this, he will go on a vacation, and would likely join up with the squad on July 13th, the day Hansi Flick has selected to start training for the next season.
