In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Barcelona have been offered a chance to recruit Palmeiras midfielder Danilo. It has been claimed that the Brazilian talent’s agents, Kia Joorabichian and Giuliano Bertolucci have maintained contact with the Catalan club over a future move for their client.

Danilo’s Impressive Rise In Brazilian Football

Danilo has established himself as a dominant defensive midfielder in Brazil but is yet to take the leap of joining a top European club thus far. The 21-year-old has already made 106 senior appearances for Palmeiras, finding the back of the net ten times and securing seven assists in multiple competitions.

Should Barcelona Head Coach Xavi Snap Danilo Up?

Danilo is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make a few solid challenges to secure possession back for his side at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and can even strike the ball with power and accuracy from close range. The Brazilian rising star is also proficient at making a few intelligent runs with the ball from midfield.

At such a tender age, Danilo has already won the Copa Libertadores twice. Hence, he has got the winning mindset to become a real success story at a club like Barcelona.

We can expect Danilo to serve as a brilliant, long-term successor to Sergio Busquets at the Nou Camp. He could even help the Catalan club get back to challenging for major trophies in the coming seasons. All in all, Danilo will be an excellent, long-term signing for Barca to consider this summer. Therefore, Xavi should think about getting a deal done for him in this off-season as the Brazilian whizkid has got the potential to become a generational talent in Europe.
