Dani Olmo has made a considerable impact at Barcelona since joining the club in the summer. The Spaniard has racked up five goals in eight competitive matches and even though injuries have stifled his progress, he remains a key creative outlet for Hansi Flick.

However, with the end of the year fast approaching, Barcelona must soon find a way to generate fresh revenue, if they are to register Olmo.

It must be remembered that Barcelona had to use the injured Andreas Christensen’s salary to register Olmo in the summer. But they have to generate new income in order to keep the player registered.

How much do Barcelona need to register Olmo?

According to RAC1, Barcelona need to generate at least €50 million more in order to be able to return to the 1:1 rule and therefore, register Olmo.

Failing to raise such a figure could see Olmo being de-registered and unable to play for Barcelona from January 1.

This comes despite Barcelona’s recent Nike deal, which is set to provide the club with a handsome economic boost.

The report adds that the Nike deal wasn’t enough for Barcelona to return to the 1:1 rule specifically because of the losses incurred by Barça Vision.

How will Barcelona raise €50 million?

With the Nike deal failing to solve Barcelona’s economic woes, the club must find other ways of bringing in fresh revenue.

One solution will be to find more buyers for Barça Vision, given that the botched deal with Libero was the root of all problems.

Barcelona may also rely on player sales in January in order to reduce the wage bill and bring in fresh revenue. But with even Ronald Araujo moving closer to renewing, it will be interesting to see who heads down the exit door.
