Hansi Flick is back in Barcelona after his vacation, ready to take control of operations, finalise pre-season plans, and meet with sporting director Deco to begin making decisive moves in the market.

The Blaugrana have roped in Joan Garcia while also bidding goodbye to out-of-favour players like Ansu Fati and Clement Lenglet.

More exits are expected to take place soon, with Pablo Torre, Oriol Romeu, Pau Victor, and captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen also on the exit ramp.

Marc Casado’s future hangs in the balance

Another player’s future that has become a topic of internal discussion at Barcelona, according to SPORT, is that of Marc Casado.

The 21-year-old midfielder enjoyed a proper breakthrough last season, establishing himself as a starter following the ACL injury sustained by Marc Bernal.

However, Casado’s importance in the team declined towards the backend of the season, especially after Frenkie de Jong’s return from injury.

Now, with the Dutchman expected to renew and Bernal set to return after his lengthy injury layoff, Casado may have limited minutes, leading to question marks over his future.

There is interest from several clubs in the La Masia midfielder, with Chelsea among his admirers.

Reports earlier in the month suggested that an offer worth around €50 million could convince Barcelona to part ways with the youngster.

Casado ended the 2024/25 season with 36 appearances across all competitions, managing a goal and six assists. The player, for his part, has no intentions of leaving Barcelona. But the final decision will rest with Flick.
