Although everything is looking rosy and the fans are full of optimism about their team at this final stage of the 2024-25 season, there is no doubt that Hansi Flick started his tenure at FC Barcelona in very difficult circumstances.

The Blaugranes were not able to strengthen their squad a lot in his first summer transfer window with the Catalan club, as only Dani Olmo and Pau Victor arrived as reinforcements.

To make things worse, several Barcelona players were unable to play due to physical problems in this initial phase of the season.

Marc Bernal remains out with an ACL tear

In such circumstances, the German coach decided to bet on youth talent, and one player who took advantage of this situation was the midfielder Marc Bernal. The La Masia graduate made himself a regular starter for Flick in this initial part of the season.

However, he suffered an unfortunate injury, an ACL tear with an associated injury to the external meniscus, that derailed a highly promising season for the youngster.

Video shows him working out and touching the ball

Nine months have passed since that fateful day, and according to Mundo Deportivo, Bernal is now already in the last stages of his recovery process. He has been working on the pitch for some weeks now, and Barcelona themselves posted a video of his workout on their social media recently.

In this video, the young midfielder can be seen undertaking exercises involving changes or pace and turns, which are aimed at strengthening the core. He can also be seen touching the ball in this video.

These images provided a very good update on the midfielder’s situation. However, despite the positive feelings, his return to the field is not going to be rushed, and he is not going to play again this season.

However, Marc Bernal will still be able to participate in the upcoming pre-season in good physical shape, and thus would hopefully be fully ready for the next season.
