Like last summer, Hansi Flick once again took a number of youngsters on FC Barcelona’s pre-season tour of Asia, and the talent made the most of their chances.
Pedro ‘Dro’ Fernandez, Jofre Torrents, Roony Bardghji, and Toni Fernandez all shone, working hard in training and doing well whenever given a chance.
Now, according to SPORT, Toni Fernandez’s camp has met with Barcelona officials in recent days to lay out the roadmap for his immediate future at the club.
The Catalans expressed confidence in him and conveyed that Flick is very pleased with his development and pre-season performances.
The plan is for Toni to be an important figure and a pillar in Barça Atletic, starting from the reserve team as his base and working towards promotion when Flick deems it appropriate.

The 17-year-old La Masia pearl is fully committed to Barcelona, willing to work hard with the reserves, despite relegation to the Segunda RFEF, and let opportunities arise from there. He knows Flick is keeping an eye on him and values him highly.
Toni Fernandez is considered one of the most promising talents to emerge from Barcelona’s academy in recent years and has matured significantly as a footballer in recent months.
The youngster just turned 17 and has already taken part in his second pre-season with the senior squad.
Flick, who had already taken Toni under his wing last summer and closely monitored him during the US tour, again included him in training for the first weeks and then in the summer tour of Asia.
After not featuring against Vissel Kobe, he played the entire second half vs FC Seoul, where he scored a goal, and also came on late against Daegu.
One of his main qualities is his versatility, being able to play on both wings and as an attacking midfielder – which made him a key part of the Barça Atletic setup last season.
Toni will continue working with the reserves so as to be ready when Flick feels the time is right for a call-up.
