A leading managerial target on the part of La Liga giants Barcelona is doing his utmost to carve out a path for himself to Catalunya’s capital this summer.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who points towards Hansi Flick as the tactician in question.

The name of German Flick has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Barcelona over the course of the last week.

This comes after confirmation was forthcoming that the former Bayern Munich boss is again under consideration to take up the reins at the Camp Nou.

Amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of current Blaugrana headmaster Xavi, Joan Laporta and co. have earmarked Flick and Barca Atlètic coach Rafa Márquez as their two favoured replacements.

Reports surfaced in the media earlier today that two members of the Barcelona board – in Deco and Bojan Krkić – had flown out to London, to hold discussions with Flick and agent Pini Zahavi.

And, if ensuing word to have come to the fore on Wednesday evening is anything to go by, the German will have done everything in his power to convince the pair of his readiness to take over from Xavi.

As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, Flick is ‘pushing’ hard for a place in the Barcelona dugout, ready to turn down any other offers whilst awaiting a final answer from the Catalans.
