FC Barcelona have been making major moves in the transfer market. Having already signed Joan Garcia, the La Liga champions are set to rope in Nico Williams and Roony Bardghji imminently.
Now, it appears that the Catalan heavyweights are also making a move for a player they have been linked with for a while now – Thomas Partey.
Indeed, according to Fichajes, Barcelona have intensified negotiations to secure the signing of Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian midfielder, whose contract with Arsenal expires on 30 June, has decided not to renew with the London club and will be free to join any team from 1 July.
In this context, Barcelona have moved swiftly and are already in discussions with the player’s representatives to finalise his arrival for the upcoming season.
The Catalans’ sporting department, led by Deco, views Partey as an ideal market opportunity: an experienced, versatile player available on a free transfer.

The idea is to strengthen the midfield with physical presence, tactical discipline, and experience in top-level competitions. As such, the Blaugrana’s plan is to submit a formal offer in the coming days.
Partey, aged 32, has made his decision clear: he wants a new challenge and has rejected Arsenal’s contract renewal proposal. Although he has received offers from other leagues, his priority is to remain in European football at the highest level.
Barcelona’s interest is particularly appealing due to the sporting project and the opportunity to return to Spain, where he previously stood out with Atletico Madrid.
There is optimism within the Barcelona camp. They are aware they are not the only club pursuing the player, but they are confident of reaching an agreement soon and staying ahead of potential competitors.
If there are no setbacks, Thomas Partey could be wearing the Barcelona shirt within weeks, reinforcing a key area as the club aims to return to the top of European football.
